Sign in to disble this ad
I'm getting ready to hang my bass on the wall to save some space in the apartment. Can anyone recomend the best one to get? Interested in safety as well as it looking cool....
That said, when hanging several basses, is it ideal to hang a bracket across the wall to then mount the hangers on? I guess it's probably not a big deal as long as the hangers get in a stud?
Thanks!

I used them for years without any problems. I've been thinking about working out some way to use them in my basement.

Musician's friend doesnt say anything and when I went to Guitar Center today they said no (but I'm not sure if it was the exact model).
Any insight? |

To answer your other question, yes they work fine with five-strings. I have a G&L Tribute L2500 and a TBC AP500M (both fivers) hanging in th other room. I really like the ease of access and the security provided by the Hercules hangers.
I would echo the stflbn's comments. Mine are shielded from direct view from the window.

I need floor space and want to hang my children as well, but most of mine are 6 strings with at least 2 1/4" nut widths. Most of those rubber-coated hangers have a max 2" between the inside of the prongs. I have some really thick rubberized "U" hooks, but they are just under 2 1/8". I'd rather find out if I can find wider ones before I spread mine out wider and risk tearing up the rubber coating. Help?!? |

Help?!? | why not cut one out of a piece of wood with a jig saw...imagine a long "L" with several cutouts in the horizontal part and screw the back to the studs....the cut outs can be champfered ??? or lined with soft stuff

Any insight? | If the wall hangers have the same width as their floor stands, then yes, they'll hold them. A lot classical guitars have necks as wide/wider than a 5, so Hercules probably accounted for that. |

They would look great hanging over my piano in the corner, but....they would also look great to people outside.

Any insight? | I have 3 Hercules GSP39WB, these are good for concrete walls like we have everywhere here in France, very tough, it can almost support my own weight
one of them is holding a 6 strings ibanez SR-506, so yeah, it can fit 5 or 6 strings... but if the neck was 3mm larger, it wouldn't fit |

Help?!? | Yes, I bought mine at ACE hardware - go in and look around, I suspect they're a common inventory item. There are photos in my earlier post above. They fit 4-string Fender, Gibson, etc.
ALSO - aside from theft potential, be careful about hanging guitars where sunlight can hit them every day. You'd be amazed how fast that can fade a finish. I now have opaque curtains in the room shown in my post above just for that reason.

I'll be buying a bunch of these, since I own headless and oversized instruments. The price is nice, too! http://www.hangemhighguitarhangers.com/order2.htm

How wide are these inside (from inner prong to inner prong)? I have about a 30 minutes drive to my nearest Ace, so if I can prevent a wasted trip, or even 2 trips if I have to return them, that'd be great.
Thanks
