Uh, I just kinda remembered about this...

2 weeks ago when getting ready for service, my friend's guitar (don't remember what brand) kinda died on him...at first it kept cuttin in and out of the amp, and well, eventually nothing came out. At first we thought it was the amp as it has been screwy for a long time, but after pluggin it into an Ampeg BA-112 and nothing still coming out, we got a little irked...

I figured it would be the soldering on the input jack, but that was all good when i took a look...anybody know whats up with it?

Or possibly a bad jack. Intermittent opens can sound like that.

It could have come loose in a number of places. Get it to a tech.

try and do the whole process of elimination thing. try using a different instrument cord, using a different guitar or bass with the amp and cord in question, etc. it can be very easy to assume one thing's broken when it's something else.
