Guitar Shop "Rock Band" Program

Sign in to disble this ad
Anyone familiar with a program that many guitar shops are running that is commonly referred to as "Rock Band". It is a program where they organize groups of kids in to bands and teach them all the things most of us had to learn in a garage or basement.

Is this a program each shop develops or is there a curriculum that can be purchased?

Thanks in advance.

No, I mean a program at local guitar shops that teach kids/teens how to be in a band. I have seen two adverts in my home town from two different shops that are running programs.

I am just wondering if there is a company out there promoting this as an add on to standard guitar/bass lessons and is being promoted in the music industry or just something that each shop has put together themselves.

I suspect that these programs are homegrown. Truth be told, music education is probably the only way for indie music stores to compete with Guitar Center.

Thanks guys. I was just wondering, and not trying to say anything bad about it. I really just was wondering if it was something that the NAMM or some other grioup of people had organized.

It really is a great idea. There are so many things I wish I had learned before showing up to my first gig......
