Guitar Wall Hanger via Button Straps

Sign in to disble this ad
Not sure if this thread really belongs in the Bass subsection.

Anyways, I was at Sam Ash and found a wall hanger that hangs the guitar by the guitar strap buttons (GC Link below). I'm hoping to hang up my Fender Starcaster since I hardly use it anymore. Anyone ever used these kind of hangers before; yay or nay? The reason I'm looking at these is because I just want to make sure my guitar never pops off the drywall and onto me (The only wall space I have is over my bed), and it seems more secure to have it held at two sections instead of just the upper neck.

They look a bit cheap and gimicky. If it's not broke, don't fix it! Just use a normal guitar hanger or the kind that cradle the body and neck. It seems like your wall studs would have to be spaced just right for this to work too. I wouldn't be able to sleep at night knowing that my guitar might be heavy enough to rip these out of the drywall.

Just looked at all the pictures and the one with the guitar hero controllers next to the real guitars makes me throw up a little. Really GC?!

If it says "be the first to review...." I generally stay away.

If that's an original Starcaster semi-hollow from the 70s, you can feel free to hang it up at my house.

Here it is on Amazon.com with 1 positive review. Though you guys made me hesitant on purchasing it, not that its a bad thing.

Any recommendations for a wall hanger to use on very cheap dry wall. Preferably one whre I can hang it sideways, I think it looks more attractive that way.

Everything I nail into these walls come out so easily. Or maybe I just need to learn how to nail things in properly. Anyways I need something that won't make me nervous that it'll fall off the wall and cause damage. This would be for a standard Fender starcaster, just a few pounds.

As long as you use a wall anchor that provides enough strength and withdrawal resistance, you should be able to safely hang your guitar on the wall as art. DO NOT USE NAILS. Make sure the screws that go into the guitar are tight and properly sized!

That said, if you live in earthquake country, I'd keep your guitar in its hard case - under the bed.

I bought these today, I figured I would be the first to test it out. No complaints at all.
