Guitard me, v-amp help please

I'm a bassist not a guitarist but I have a v-amp2 I need to set up for an open mic night. I posted on the yahoo v-amp group but nada... v-amp forums are full of spam so I don't feel like signing up to them.

I'm thinking what I need is three banks of patches that don't vary too wildly in volume. It goes straight into the desk so I need to keep the gain under control or it'll clip my mixer very easily. The idea is that any bedroom rockstar can leap on and have himself a wild time without anyone having to fiddle about with nobs.

I was thinking to put a clean in the middle so it goes clean/boost/lead whichever way you go. Banks for blues, rock, funk, reggae, not a lot of call for jazz or metal but I'll take 'em if you got 'em. Open to suggestions also.

The gat is a stock Squire strat. Quacks like a strat so I guess it does everything else stratlike if I knew what pickup to select and what nobs to twist.

Not into midi btw.
