What guitarists play bass on occasion?
I know Jimi Hendrix played bass on some of the songs he recorded. Jimmy Page played bass briefly during the Yardbirds.
Also guitarist that play bass, do they usually use a pick? |

There are people who deserve that title, Noel Redding is not one of them.

He was no guitard. "Guitard" should be reserved for the truly clueless/thoughtless/mindless guitarists deserving the title. I've been playing guitar for 30+ years and I've never once acted or thought like a "guitard". I love making music and feel privileged to be able to do so.
I've only just started playing bass, but I too have had plenty of run-ins with true "guitards". It's part of a mindset that goes well beyond just music.
Just my humble $.02.

Actually came up with some interesting lines. His lead licks on bass sound really cool - kinda sloppy, but hey! - that's Ronnie!!

My guess would be any and all musicians have done that at one point or another.
To be absolutely honest, this:"I am a BASSPLAYER, I WON'T even touch any other instrument, I am a BASSPLAYER You see?" crap that seems to be so popular among some of the TBers just amuses me beyond belief.
I rehearse and play more guitar than bass even though I only gig in a band with a bass and with an acoustic guitar only as a solo act.
To add to the list, not a guitarist, but rather a singer : Boz Burrell, RIP, a pretty fine bassist IMHO.
Regards
Sam |

It is so limiting and hurtful to pride ourselves as being bass players only. We should all consider ourselves musicians first, and when we don't is when we get into class warfare. |

Also, Jonsi is freakishly skinny. |
