Guitars made by famous bass builders

It seems that most famous bass builders started out by making guitars. I think it would be interesting to see some of these bulders' early work. Here's a pic of a Pedulla...

I think it's a pretty cool looking instrument.

Any others? Comments, experiences?

I think Roscoe started out making guitars. I didn't care for their looks too much.

I know Carl Thompson makes guitars. Some of them are pretty cool looking, some are pretty goofy looking. I don't he started off with guitars though.

can't find a pic, but James Hetfield plays one of Ken Lawrence's Explorers. It's got a mahogany body with some exotic bark laminate on top. it's one of the most beautiful Explorers I've seen.

Greg Curbow and Alembic makes pretty good guitars as well. BTW, doesn't Mike Tobias make guitars?
