Kempff was absolutely one of the greatest, if not THE greatest of the our time.

I don't think anyone else plays it quite so perfectly. And that German Steinway sounds like a dream.

Also, click on his rendition of movement #3 to see some fancy finger work.

I dont particularly like classical but I've always liked this piece and he plays it with alot of soul. Nice find, and ncie to see you around here again Sam!

thanks guys... I came across it while looking for examples of piano for my son who is taking a liking to music. It didn't get many views before it dropped off the map, so I thought I'd give it a bump..

I think there is posted someplace on TB a version of this where Stu Hamm plays it on his bass during a pro-longed solo.

thanks Sam. Good to see you. That guy is a heck of a musician. I've heard the song many times before, but the way he played it, the song really "spoke" to me. Very soulful and moving.

That's just it, the guy made the otherwise ordinary, extra-ordinary..

I mean what more could one ask for than Beethoven played thru a Hamburg Steinway Model D by Kempff??
