So, This has happened before, (And I know a couple other people here siad the same!) there I was at a Sam ash (HATE THAT PLACE!!!) playing a 5 string warwick rockbass (yuck) and this girl walked in... and looked at me playing it and said... What is that? Bass have 4 strings... And guitars have 6... so what is that? SO two things crossed my mind... either "Its a Bass-Guitar" or "A mandolin".... I Chose Mandolin and she said "Oh"...

Lol, I just thought that was funny and got a chuckle out of it!

Yeah, that's probably better than going into the science of it.

Was she pretty?

Should have told her it was a tuba, she was obviously oblivious to the fact that mandolins have 5 strings by the sounds of it anyway.

Egh. Warwick should stick to warwick, ya know?
Moral of the story:
When at sam ash, drop the bass and grap the girl.

(Never been to a SamAsh nor a GC, but from what I read about them: )

Was she a salesman. . . salesperson?

That is a strong possibility.

Hmm... this is almost off topic, but since there was a bass involved, off to Miscellaneous.

Since it was only a rock bass i would have used it like a axe and removed her head.

Naa at that point i would have told her that i played in (tried to take a guess of cheezy bands she might like) You know JEDI might trick her!

I'm disappointed for an entirely different reason. Mandolins have 8 strings...
