Happy/beautiful Music.

I'm looking for joyful, happy, poppy music.

For examples of what I'm talking about...

Beatles - Here Comes the Sun
Third Eye Blind - Semi Charmed Life
Dispatch - Flying Horses, The General
Incubus - Dig
Jack Johnson - Upside Down

Or music that is just really beautiful. One of my favorite bands, The Decemberists, are a great example of this. I can't really describe it.

This youtube video is one of my favorite song of theirs, if you don't know them I'd recommend you take a listen.

So yeah. Any happy music you want to recommend, I'll listen to.

I always like Simon and Garfunkel for happy feel good lyrics. Richard Corey or The Boxer are very uplifting!

The Decemberists are really good

Try Pinback, The Shins, Blonde Redhead and although they've not got many lyrics Mogwai for generally beautiful music. Sigur Ros are amazing as well, but Icelandic lyrics.

I finally got around to checking out those bands. I really love Blonde Redhead. I already am really into Pinback and The Shins. I'm still sorting through Blonde Redhead's stuff, I'll let you know what I think of the other ones.

Thanks!

Stevie Wonder is the master of happy music:

- My cherie amour
- You are the sunshine of my life
- For once in my life
- Smile please
- Bird of beauty
- etc.

Actually he's more than the master of happy music. He's to me THE master of expressing emotions, whether it is happiness, joy, sadness, anger or whatever...

TONY ALLEN - played with and wrote music for fela kuti and with the good the bad and the queen. his solo stuff is awesome - check out the 'homecooking' album.

Excellent choice. I'm a recent convert, but I've really been into them since I saw them play here last summer (for free!) with an orchestra.

Here's one a lot of folks may have already seen, but it's a beautiful performance of a classic (and you get Jamerson live, to boot!):
