bought a hohner yesterday. I learned some basic stuff.

I thought it would be cool to have something I can carry in my pocket. A sorta' musical side-arm. Maybe I can work out some tunes where I play harmonica and bass simultaniously.

I'm finding this is alot harder than I expected.

I can play saxaphone, I can play cello (which is supposed to be hard, apparently), and of course bass (at which I'm told I'm very good). I'm surprised how much trouble I have just playing the note I want w/out hitting others on accident. I'm going to master this thing if it kills me.

It's fun, once you learn tounge blocking and everything.

I used to play, not so much anymore.

I assume you got a diatonic? Key of C? Hohner or Lee Oskar or something else?

I always played Lee Oskars and still do on occasion.

You have to use your tongue to block the holes. Is your Hohner got wooden holes. This is why I prefer Lee Oskars. They have plastic holes. Easier on the tongue. I've been playing harp for about 17 years. Started playing it to pass time in my lifeguard tower when beach was empty and days were slow. I've got pretty much every key plus some weird key's too. I have a B flat. I think I have something like 14 now.

I was considering getting a harmonica also. I think it would be impressive to play at the same time as playing bass. Whether I could do it or not is another thing.
