I just came across these today, and my jaw dropped http://www.harvest-guitar.com/en/index.php
What interests me most is the 3rd section of the 5-layer construction: "2 mm of thick hardened plastic floor plate, which acts to support the bag and protect the instrument."
That, and the bags are just gorgeous:
I want one now

My tax refund was about twice that

I don't need larger pockets, or more protection, or nicer straps. In fact, what I have now (Glenn Cronkhite leather bag) already does the job above and beyond most bags out there. I just think these look amazing and they sound like they're very high quality and offer great protection as well.

I'm a 'single trip in and out of the gig' fanatic, and a freelancer. So, it is key that I can fit everything I need in my bass gig bag other than my cab and head. The Sadowsky (and the InCase stuff is tops for that). Also, the hybrid hard case/bag design of the Porta-Bag and Slim Bag, and the very durable covering makes it possible (and safe) to transport you bass in a van or truck in those situations where you aren't hauling your own stuff. Quite unique.
I agree though, that leather is pretty. I used a Reunion Blues leather bag for about 20 years... beautiful stuff! |

+1 to the Slim/Portabag. The best designed bag out there bar none.
Now, if it really is just sbout sex appeal...I'll admit, that antiqued leather is dead sexy.

Here's my Glenn Cronkhite leather bag:

There are two kinds of folks: ones who spend a lot on luggage and one who don't. Neither side really understands the other guys...
I like really nice cases. The moment of opening a really nice case and pulling out a great bass is just one of life's little pleasures. |

But I too love seeing a nice case or gigbag. Plus, when you're carrying your bass around a lot, it's practically part of your fashion.
The Reunion bags are/were great, but the thing that still interests me about the Harvest bags is that they have a hardened plastic 'skeleton' in the bag. I know the portabag, and maybe some others have something simmilar, but they don't look nearly as cool as these
