Has talkbass introduced you to your favorite band?

I have to say I am ever grateful for the one guy who posted a link to a video of the decemberist, in a thread about great music videos. While the music video sucked, If it wasn't for this guy I can swear I wouldn't have heard of the decemberists. This was 3 years ago.

I cant thank you ENOUGH guy, for introducing me to the decemberists. Their music has taught me more about myself than I ever knew. I am TOTALLY in love with their sound. No fancy bass playing, but I can't get enough, I have never been this infatuated with a band.

Not my favorite band; that would be Rush. But I've definitely found some stuff here I like that I didn't know of before. Top of that list would be Dead Meadow.
