Not to mention the nasty chemicals in those microwave popcorn bags.

No, but I just love chewing on those half popped kernels at the bottom of the bag.

Then I scrub my face for about an hour afterwards.

Does it count if you lick your fingers, scrape around in the bag, lick your fingers again, scrape around some more, etc. until you wipe the bag clean? Not that I would do that or anything........

Perfectly acceptable alternative. It's probably cleaner to do it that way, but I enjoy the butter smears on my glasses.

No, I'm afraid it isn't a joke.

Microwave popcorn bags

Perfluorooctanoic acid

The concern is that this chemical used in the bags can be transferred into the oil, which you are eating. It is a likely carcinogen.

^^^^^^^^^^I've been known to do this.

My kids rip the bag open and lick it.

Looks like it's less dangerous than Wiki and the one cited source would lead us to believe.

"While scientific studies have so far not shown PFOA to be pose a risk to human health, the EPA has been under pressure from community groups to ban the use of the chemical."

Emphasis mine.

True, and it certainly hasn't stopped me from eating microwave popcorn!

Still, I have never even thought about licking the inside of the bag...just never occurred to me. I find the thought of it to be pretty disgusting actually. Why not just eat a spoonful of butter? Ugh.

But I don't mean to spoil anyone's fun....have at it!
