Headed to LA to see Esperanza

As the title says I'm headed to La for the show. I'll be in town September 29 - October 4th. Staying in Santa Monica so I'm looking for things musically to do. I'm going to check out the Mesa Boogie Shop and The Carvin Store. Is the Bass Exchange out there too? What about upright shops? I also saw something about a Bass Hang in Orange County (hope I'm close, it sounds like fun). Any Jazz sessions on Thursdays?
