| Help finding old Rhodes (and possibly old jazz/p bass) in LA area..(and NY/Nashville)

Hey Guys,
I'm an Aussie bassist, heading on a big three month trip to UK/US/South America pretty soon.
I'm spending some time (about 3 weeks) in LA and surrounding areas, and in that time i'm hoping to find a good deal on an old Fender Rhodes, preferably a "stage" model. Also interested in any good deals you see come up on older (prob 70's-ish) Jazz and P-basses. We're hiring a car for this time, so travel shouldn't be too much of a problem.
I won't be in US til early august (heading to UK first), but thought i'd put the feelers out and ask my TB friends if anyone could recommend places to look? I've been scouring the LA craigslist and seen a few rhodes come up for good prices ($600-ish), but it's starting to drive me crazy only seeing things i can't have!
Any stores you can recommend? classifieds? any other ideas? Ebay prob isn't an option as these things are ridiculously heavy, and also i prob wont be in a permanent residence for long enough to make it a viable option.

PS. will also be in NY for a few weeks, and nashville area for a bit - so basses could be bought from there as well. The reason i say the rhodes in LA only is it's much more expensive to ship heavy items to Australia from the East coast... So any places you could recommend i look for basses in NY/Nashville would also be appreciated! |
