Help! G-3 hipshot xtender

Sign in to disble this ad
ok so heres the story-

i was jammin with my friend in his basement (where my 4X10 is) and like the young moron i am, i leaned my beloved G-3 against the amp. So needless to say it fellover and (thankfully) only broke my E tuning machine

now my question for all you TBer's is which type of extender would work with my bass?

P.S. i have a 1979 G-3 so my tuners are the smaller dinkier kind, apparently gibson had a bunch of parts they needed to get rid of

Thanks

you have performed a crime against humanity! you shall be punished! you are charged with leaving a Gibson bass leaning against your amp. you are hereby sentenced to buy a super good stand and leave your bass on it at all times unless you are playing it.

now, to answer your question, i know nothing about Hipshot stuff other than John Entwistle used a Hipshot. i would think that any Hipshot would work for you, but as i said, i know nothing about them.

Post a picture of your bass' headstock so that we can see the tuning machines. I'm sure someone on here will be able to figure out what kind of tuners your bass has, and I guess Hipshot may or may not have the right detuner to go on there.

Those look like Gotohs. Schallers look very similar, except that the little cover on the back is D shaped instead of circular.

Most probably Gotohs . . . a Hipshot GB-7 should do the trick . . .

Yay. Another Grabberite!

The Grabbers are solid basses, they can take a beating... I'm a little of the infamous Gibson bent-back headstock style break though.
