Sign in to disble this ad
This thread is the whole reason i came... im the lead singer of my band right now, and were doing good and all but my bassist isnt doing enough // anything... which is no good... we need bass in our songs. so its a punk // metal band and were stuck doing our thing without bass (horrible isnt it?) yeah so i came here to ask how do i start? what song tabs should i grab or should i take the traditional approach with majors and minors, and if so how do i do that? is there a website i can learn from?

please please please help i love you. i need this so bad.

thank you.

just pick it up and jam the **** out.

id' just play bass along to the songs you have written. thats how I learned, I didn't use books or teachers (actually thats not totally true, I had a teacher for a couple of months to get the very bassics down). i just jammed all the time with my friends and their bands and the band i was in. listen to what the guitar players are doing and cop their ****. listen to what the drumers are doing and cop their ****. listen to what other bassists are doing and cop their ****. coalesce it into your own style.

i love you too, sexy.

Yeah good advice. In this case I'd pick it up, and play along too. Search for threads on positioning, and the correct way to fret/play the strings.
