| | | | Well if your asking THEM to buy it then I really don't stand behind you much.. BUT................Well actually if you want THEM to buy it I don't know what to say.... Buy it yourself, work for it, ask them to LOAN you part of the amount and tell them you will pay them back, this will show how much you really want it and how responsible you can be. Then later on it'll be much easier to get them to lend you large sums of money since they will see your responsible, and thats when you take it and RUN!! And never talk to them agian..
If your too young to work, which is BS you could find A WAY to make money.. Then ask santa... |

Oh heck, I'm not fussy, a used one will do just fine. SX, Squier, Fender, Lull, Valenti, I don't care just as long as it's a passive P bass. |

I know, not what you wanted to hear ... but you need to sow before you can reap ... you create the right scenario, and I am quite sure that IF they are capable, they would be more than happy to help you out ... |

Get a job if you can, save your own money. Anything else, no such luck. I've spent thousands on instruments now, all with money I've earned. That's your best bet.

Or wait for a birthday. Or turn on the waterworks, see if that flies.

Gather your funds. Get three pounds of coke. Then show it to your parents, and tell them you will snort it all if they don't buy you a bass. Win/Win/Win.
That third win is for the rest of us when you snort three pounds of coke in one sitting.

Your best bet may have been one of the large holidays that we just went through in the last couple of weeks. From a gift standpoint it could be a dry spell until your next birthday.
I completely agree with the get a job, work, make money, save money, buy a bass line of thinking.

"Mom, Dad. I don't know how to tell you this, but I have been seeing this girl and I just found out she is pregnant."
[pause while parents get worked up] at appropriate time say,
"Wait! I was just kidding! I really want you to buy me a bass."

| | | | Yea dude, you should keep the bass you have now.. I know soo many kids who get everything they want from their parents. They think that just because they go out and can get their parents to buy the best equipment that they will automaticly get good.
IT DOESN'T WORK THAT WAY.. Pratice on what you have NOW, when you finally can buy a new bass YOURSELF you will have gotten much better, and probably better on a cheap bass than you would have a new one..
Many of my friends who's parents buy them whatever they want usually quit whatever the gear was for. Paintball Guitar and even cars, when they get the best stuff and still suck they just quit I have seen it happen many times.
Play your squire and be happy. Its not all about brand name or where its made. Its what YOU do with it, and I would rather take a good guitarist useing cheap gear than a bad guitarist using good gear and im sure everyone here would agree. BTW Squires can be really good guitars get it set up right and there should be NO problem.. |

| | | | Find a really nice ballad that has good tone and a good bass line.
Play it to your mother and tell her that you need a certain bass to get that same sound.
It worked for my mate. | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | |
