Help me settle a bet... Dear TB, I need help settling a bet. Long story short, I've been writing up horn charts for my senior recital at school, and have run into a dead end. Here is the track in question: https://dl-web.dropbox.com/get/Mich%...SolFyC0ftjpT7g I'm convinced that the way to write out the horn line for this is exhibit A, but have been told by my band (and the horn players) that exhibit B is the right way to write it. Exhibit A: ![]() Exhibit B: ![]() Thoughts? |
B is correct. A onscures the beat in the last measure. |
Both are different. For starters, the length of the first note is different between the two. Here is how Logic Pro would display ExhibitA: ![]() Here is a MIDI file to hear Exhibit A: ExhibitA.mid Here is how Logic Pro would display ExhibitB: ![]() Here is a MIDI file to hear Exhibit B: ExhibitB.mid |
Thanks for the input guys! |
The horn players are probably confused, because the notation is legible. :D |
Completely different. Both are correct, if that's the rhythm you want. |
