Help! Names for Funk Bands

I've started up a new band playing some old-school gumbo, soul and deep funk, which i'm pretty excited about, as I'm usually playing in jazz and big bands (and cover bands, but we won't go there...)

I guess there's a few well-versed funk players here, does anyone have any good band names they can 'give up'?

Four musicians, a "drummer," and (insert the name of your singer here).

All I'm gonna say is don't you DARE use the words "Funk" or "Funky" in your bands name. That guarantees whackness. I'm serious. Other that than, have a ball with the name1

LOL... I just tried that band name generator. Had a kick out of some bizarre suggestions given to me...

1. Flat Coach and the Training Scalp
2. Wooden Mother of the Blatant Ceremony
3. Valid Finger of the Legal Logic
4. Fat Percentage

I don't know if any of these might pertain to a funk-style band.

Gigantic +1

Totally played out. And most of these bands need to take a Groove 101 course. Pretty lame any way you slice it.

I have one... my uncle, a Tower of Power fanatic, was suggesting funk names one day (for our college folk-rock group, strangely enough):

Edward Teach and the Smoking Fuses.
DO IT.

I call dibs on "Fat Percentage" if you don't end up using it. In fact, I may just steal it anyway...

About 25 years ago, a friend came up with the name The Groovaleptics.... I wish I had ever been in a band that warranted that name.
