I just purchased a green sx vintage jazz bass. The shipping is screwed up because of the holidays so i wont get it till the 30th. I've been planning on moding the bass, this is my first project. I've put together a list of things i need to get that i can pay for part by part because im not made of money right now. list:
black block geddy lee neck
new bridge (bad a$$ most likely)
new pups either s.duncans or fender noiseless
black pic guard
ive read a few things about getting new pots for the bass and getting a sheilding job...ive never done something like that how much do you think it would cost to have a tech do something like that?

any other necesities that you think i should consider adding to the sx would be great thanks

Why not play it first and see if anything needs to be changed? You may like it like it is. It's not necessary to change anything on them.

New pots and a shielding job should cost you around $30.00-$40.00 if a tech does it or a lot less if you do it yourself.

If you're planning on getting a real Fender Geddy neck, just be aware that the SX necks are a bit wider so that the neck pocket will be larger.
