Help- Soft synths, midi.....

Sign in to disble this ad
I'm looking into using a laptop computer triggered by a midi controller keyboard for live use using the sounds on the computer. I'd also like to to be able to run my midi out from my GR-20 to be able to use the computer synth sounds on my GK pickup on the bass as well.

Anyone have any insight on what all I will need to get other than the obvious (laptop, keyboard controller, cables) and what soft synths/samplers work well with this kind of application? I may also be interested in using this setup for some sequencing as well.

Thanks in advance.

Yeah, you'll need a good quality audio interface. You could connect the laptop to the pa using the 1/8" outputs, but you wouldn't be happy with it...
