Help transferring a ringtone to my phone?

Here's something I've been playing around with lately. I'd like to make a custom ring tone off of some awesome shreddy guitar solo (think Dethklok Dethphones) for me and my bandmates.

1) Get the material. For this, I will just use Audacity and record whatever's playing (if I don't have the song) or use some other program to record just the solo of songs I do have. This I can do.

2) convert to whatever extension the phone uses. This I have problems with. Just for fun, I recorded some stuff from the mic on my phone (terrible quality, lots of popping noises) and tried to make it a ringtone. The recorded things and ringtones are stored in different file locations, and I can't make something I've recorded my ringtone. What kind of file extension should I use?

3) Anybody happen to know how to share files from computer to phone using Bluetooth? If not, I'll have to hunt down a small to large USB connector.

Let me know if this needs to be moved, figured it worked best here.

Send a message via AIM to sonic assassin
you can use bluetooth and drop mp3's in your ringtone folder. i also used to send sound files to myself in a text and save them as ringtones.
