Done!

If your band gets that gig in Detroit, be sure to palm-mute during the verses, eh?

Shameless self promotion, or community helping each other out? I'll hold on to the latter.

Voted.

i hate being pessimistic, but it will seriously one of the longest, most stressful, not to mention HOTTEST days of your life playing one of the shortest sets of your life for little to no actual recognition.

warped has changed drastically over the years. kids these days (I'm not that old and jaded, i swear) will flock to the main stages to see their favorite bands, paying no mind to the side stages and bands that are out there to try and reach a larger audience.

we did the Boston (actually at the Fitchburg airport) warped tour date in 2006. load in was at 8 am, we had to leave our practice spot at 6:30 am and didn't play until about 3 pm - for 20 minutes. it was well over 100 degrees and humid that day. it's an airport, so there was no shade. after our set i was able to watch one set from another band i liked before passing out under a flatbed truck that was used as a loading dock for our stage. i got home around 11 pm completely drained, dehydrated, and sunburned.

For a young band, I expect that this (or any gig) would be worth doing for the experience alone.

Thanks for the votes! And yes, I'm well aware that this most likely isn't going to make us instant super stars, but we feel that, all of the other prizes aside, just the experience of going to Warped Tour and playing it ((and the after party)) would be a highlight and step in our musical careers. If we manage to get to warped tour and our music manages to touch, inspire, be enjoyed by, or even raise the eyebrows of even a handful of people, it will be 100% worth it.

my ex band played the ventura warped tour last year. even though it was hectic, i enjoyed every moment of it. i got to hang out and chit chat with some of my favorite bands too! forget everyone saying it isnt worth it. it is. you get to set up a tent and promote all day. you also get to meet a bunch of people. which im sure will put you one step ahead of the other locals. anyways, good luck and you can count on my vote.

I can't weigh in on the situation with any experience, but you do sound too excited.

Hey Vincent.

If you guys do get this gig be sure to treat it primarily as a learning experience and take notes.

A few business cards with contact info may be useful too.

Hmm... When I first tried to vote again a few days ago your caliwannabe page indicated that I had already voted.

When I tried again just now it allowed me to vote again so I did.
