Hercules stands stink!

My band has had numerous problems with our Hercules microphone stands. We are a church band so it's not like we are going on tour or abusing the equipment. We had to send 6 stands back to get new ones...and the new ones are now breaking.

My advice is to stick with good old Atlas or On Stage stands.

K&M are my favourite. My biggest problem with Hercules mic stands is that I can never seem to get them to hold to one position! I'm all for innovative products, but if your fancy mechanisms don't work, well...

I'm not a fan of their folding guitar stands either - it takes a lot of care to put a guitar onto one of these without it falling off!

They seem to have no problem selling their products though, as I see them everywhere. Maybe people like yellow

edit: This thread from ProSoundWeb has some good info on mic stands.

I've never tried one of their mic stands...

...because they always looked iffy to me.

However, I'm a big fan of their axe stands. Used several of the yoke-hanger ones, until my collection got to be too large and I had to go to a rack. My old man still uses one for his guitbox, and he's happy with it. As well, I keep a little baby Hercules folder for rehearsals and gigs.

I honestly could not be happier with ther service they've provided, especially with heavy, large, and oddly-shaped guitars and basses that make the average axe stand go crying home.

Love their auto locking hanging guitar stands. Never tried or been inspired to try one of their mic stands.

Wink

+1 on the bass stands. I have 4 of them and they are great. A little pricey if you ask me, but hey, I bought 4 of them

I have several for saxophones and clarinets large and small, and I like them a lot. They do the job and have held up to light travel and abuse by small children. I guess everyone makes a dud now and then.

I have never used their mic stands, but I have used plenty of the guitar stands and those are great.
