Here is an idea if you can't remember the words to your songs!!

Ever learn a new tune, but have trouble remembering the words?? Hate to have a dumpy music stand sitting in front of you on stage with the words sitting on it??

Here is your solution: Print your words on a small sheet of paper, laminate it, and hang it on your mike stand like this!! It works great, and its pretty un-obvious!!

I've been using this for years...and thought I'd pass it along to everyone.

(Oh yeah...be sure to hang a rubber chicken from your mike stand!! Chicks dig it, and you can ask them if they'd like to "pet your c**k!!)

*snicker*

I have "cheat-sheets" in those plastic sleeves in a binder,
I'll take one out when needed or peek at it on top of my amp. I hate music stands ... we have one fella in one of my bands that needs one for lyrics ..... I like this idea.
Beats looking down on the floor or where ever I've placed the cheat-sheet!

I'm not sure how "un-obvious" it is, but it is better than looking off the floor. I don't particularly mind a low, well placed music stand. It just depends on the venue and type of show you're playing.

In a word: iPad. Our keyboardist has entered his personal Fake Book of >200 songs into his iPad. No thumbing through paper pages to find a song; enter a keyword and there it is, self lit. It's wi-fi enabled, of course, so even if he doesn't have a song, he can get it. He's got his iPhone jailbreaked (jailbroken?) and linked to it, so he can get to 3G or 4G if wi-fi is not on site.

It's very, very cool.

Good idea.

If you insert black paper behind the lyric sheet or glue a piece to the back of the plastic, it'll be less obvious from the FOH.

Maybe an iPad or touch screen laptop can be hung in a similar fashion.
