We are holding auditions for an artist next week for the following instruments: Piano, Drums, Bass, and Guitar.
Serious inquires only, this is for a tour and long-term relationship. Rehearsals are paid and gigs are also paid.
Drummer must play Zildjian Cymbals and DW Drums, do not reply if you cannot rock this kit.
Piano player must only play motifs, and be able to play scales.
Bass player must be 7 strings or more.
Everyone must be able to play gospel chops, do not reply if you are not from the church.
| I can play "Chopsticks", think i'll have a chance? |

| Oh dear. If this was in the UK it might fall foul of the Employment Equality (Religion or Belief) Regulations 2003 (though I doubt the person holding auditions is actually looking to employ people).

There were no requirements listed for eye color, length of fingernails, number of eyelashes, button fly versus zip fly pants, or specific make and model of vehicle driven. This means I have a chance!!!!!!

I ran a help wanted ad years ago on the CL (I was so frustrated by IT jobs being listed for $10 an hour) that had the same sort of thing - insane requirements, etc. I got a TON of resume's, including one from a former colleague who was out of work!

The last line about "Journey" is pretty funny.

Erm...
So what members DO you have?
I suspect a fantasising Vocalist(s) ad.
Anytime I see a Craigslist ad implying a good career move, alarm bells go off.
Around here, no band that is gonna *seriously* tour, and is at the point where they are enough of an "act" that they are paying guys for rehearsals, is gonna run cattle calls; er, sorry, open auditions. They know enough "guys who know guys" that it's unnecessary.
And they don't pull the "Zildjian Cymbals and DW Drums" crap. If the music demands, I can see specifying a 5'er, but a 7 string??!!
