Here is why Facebook can be cool.......

I know the opinions about Facebook are mixed but I have to give it 2 thumbs up right now simply because of these pics that were posted on it last night. They were posted by a guy that I barely know or remember. The pics are of my first serious band (Judas Priest style metal) from 27 frickin' years ago! I was 19 years old. I certainly have never had copies of these pics. Pretty cool to see them.

Notice I had good taste in basses even back then. It is a '79 or '80 Ric 4001. Had to have a Ric because of Geddy. I bought this one used from a local music store as they didn't have any Jetglos. Just had to have a Ric. I was using a Peavey head of some sort and 2 - 2x15 Peavey Cabs. You can see one of them in the second pic. Back then there wasn't the selection there is now for bass gear. Or the available info on what was good and what wasn't.

I can't believe how fast the years have gone by. Seeing these pics really took me back.

What is it with people removing the logos from their Peavey amps? I've still got my 215!

I like the pics and your story. I was in the other side - posting old band pics. It helped me get in touch with old friends that I'd lost contact with. Facebook can be cool!

I"ve found that for every cool pic on fecebook, I've had to sift through hundreds of pics of peoples pussy cats and babies, or drunk teenagers pulling stoopid faces. Yes, it is a fantastic 'Tool', so far, under utilized.
I love the old photos of the embarrassing hair and fashion. Serves as a reminder, not to be too critical of todays fashions.
