I'm actually building a roots dub band with a dj/mixer right now. Be stoked to check you out at DiPiazza's. My band has played there. Fun venue. You'll like it, if you haven't played there before.
Will try to make it. |

or this friday at 14 Below in santa monica. | I'll see if I can make it! My band (before the acrimonious breakup) actually played a nearly sold-out show at the Roxy in May, but you should be warned. Unless you're the big act of the night, expect to be screwed over by the venue. We brought in the most people when we played, but when we first arrived to set up, the venue deliberately allowed the headliner to eat up all of our sound check time while we waited in the parking lot for three hours, and we only had time for a line check, loading our gear in ten minutes before we were supposed to go on. They did this to us the last time we performed there as well. So expect to have a pretty crappy sound and mix when you go on, in a worst-case scenario.
Of course, then we went to the Rainbow bar and grill, and we saw Lemmy.
I have a drivers license, but no car, seeing as how I leave for college in a month. Hopefully I can find a way over. What name are you performing under? |

We are bringing a party bus with 47 people.... so that should make a good impression. |

Of course, bring in as many people as you can, but try everything in your power to get the guys there to mix properly, and for the love of god, get a sound check if you can! Be ready to play damage control, you might want to have someone in the audience who can give you visual clues as to your sound.
Past that, have a good time. The Roxy has a nice big stage, too, at least bigger than the Whisky (though the Whisky was a lot nicer to us).
But, if I can make it, I'll be sure to be there! |
