So I have been playing bass for about 4 months now, Its awesome so much fun. I have some prior music background (12 years of saxophone playing) so it has not been to hard, except for the whole....stringed intrument thing....so many hand placements. I'd just like to say TB has been very very helpful . I haven't had to register and post a question at all because of the great search function and many MANY existing threads.

Just wanted to say thanks, The final goal is to be able to create basslines on my bass and play the melody on my saxophone, then record it
or O.o basslines on my saxopone and melody on my bass!!!!!!! oh the possibilities. needless to say ill be entertained for a long long time.

That's kind of funny - I've always felt bass was pretty straight-forward and that saxophone was the Rubik's Cube of instruments. I mean, it has all those buttons and knobs and if you push some of them, two others pop up in random places.

But the fingerings on a saxophone go in order up and down the scale starting from G (left hand index finger, middle, and ring) and an A would be (index and middle), B is just index finger. its stright forward add the octave key to go up an octive, add the right hand 3 fingers to go to low D , C , E, F etc ( or regular C,D,E,F with octave key held down).

where as bass is like lines everywhere and strings seperated by more lines.

TB is the best. I even got an e-mail for my birthday last week from them! I don't care if it was automatic, it made me smile! Best site ever!
