I'm in NYC for a couple days. Can anybody recommend any stores in the area that carry high end basses? |

Typical music store attitude times 10. Also, when you get there ask the guy at the front desk if there is anyone upstairs in the bass shop. Every time I go there the guy is downstairs at the front desk & the bass shop is locked. Save yourself the walk up 3 flights.
The guys at the bass boutique are SO much nicer & more helpful. But the shop is like a closet & they dont stock much. |

couches, a bar, a pool table, and you call before you get there and set up the apointment. it is usually the same day as well.
tons and tons of SUPER high end stuff.
when you set up the apointment you tell them what you are looking for (4, 5, 6, fretless, etc...) and they pull all of the matching items out of their huge inventory and tailor the shop to your needs.
absolutly great!
if you end up on 48th street and go to Manny's, ask for Dana and tell him that Clifton Hyde told you to contact him. good guy, knows some stuff and won't jerk you around like some of the other guys. |
