hipshot tuners

Sign in to disble this ad
what exactly are hipshot tuners? i've read adverts on them, and all i know is that they are supposed to tune the strings more precisely...other than that, i'm clueless on what the point of these tuners are.

edit: oops. i guess this should be moved to setup and repair...
edit2: after doing some more research, i'm guessing that hipshot is just a brand....but, what the hell are hipshot extenders?

From the site.

With a quick flick of the handy thumb lever, the HIPSHOT Bass Extender Key instantly expands your range without leaving position. Tunable to any note from "E" to low "C"
It's a switch on your E string tuner that can be "flicked" to lower your E string or "un-flicked" to go back to E.
