Hollis Gentry ~ Nathan East

A bunch of jazz icons played a benefit concert tonight for a local sax man, Hollis Gentry. Hollis is a co-founder of the group Fattburger. He was in a terrible car accident that left him in a coma for over 4 weeks. He is now out of the coma and on the long road to recovery.

Anyway, getting to the point, Nathan East (also a local product) was the bass player at the show. So guess what kind of bass he was playing.

A four-string Fender Jazz bass that looked like had seen lots of action. You heard it here first.

Most bass companies realize that most of us have a special old Fender that we will never part with, so they don't sweat it.

Ha! I know I've got a special old Fender I'll never part with. That would make a pretty good TB poll: Do you have a special old Fender you'll never part with? Probably been done...
