Holy crap. Can anyone show me more music like this?

Hi guys, lately I've been expanding my musical tastes. I've been getting into some really slow stuff, like Electric Wizard, Brothers Of The Sonic Cloth, and so on, but I just found this band called "Earth". They basically pioneered what is called "drone" music, and when I listened to a song of theirs, I thought it was going to be heavy, but it was kind of deep, atmosphere building music. I'm hooked! Here's the song.. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rkaCfZRROsg

Can anyone else recommend me songs/ bands/ albums (or EP's, whatever) with this kind of sound/ feel to them? Thanks guys, I greatly appreciate it.

You should check out Hearts of Space. It is a radio program on NPR. There is a lot of Drone music out there. And it all started with Brian Eno.

This might interest you;

Boston College Radio runs a show called 'No Commercial Potential' that might also appeal to you; http://www.wzbc.org/
Last, but hardly least, see if you can find some recordings by Phillip Glass from the early 1980s. The music was called 'minimalist' back then. He did a show with 6 musicians on 6 synthesizers that was literatlly mezmerizing. If that tickles you & you could listen to instruments used to play Classical music, listen to something by John Cage. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hUJagb7hL0E 8-) or http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GMP6aAMatj8

Lots of stuff.

Most of Boris' stuff can be classed as Drone. Pink, Amplifier Worship, etc,.

Electric Wizard is one my favourites.

You might also like sludge metal.

Mastodon, Pelican, Isis, Neurosis.

Electric Wizard is more stoner metal, so stuff like

Kyuss, Sleep (need to be baked for that one, or it's boring as heck), Melvins (Stoner Witch).

Lots of stuff.

Check out www.rateyourmusic.com , go into the search bar and type in Drone, Stoner Metal, Sludge Metal, click on genre. Lots and lots of stuff to find.

I really like Electric Wizard, they're awesome. Same goes for Kyuss, but I've never heard Sleep. Next time I toke up I'll definitely listen to that one though
I'm fairly familiar with the Melvins, although I haven't listened to them in a while, Houdini, here I come! Lol.

I do like Sludge metal; ever heard of Admiral Angry? I really am starting to like Drone, though. After I listened to the song in that link I was hooked.

Not 'Drone,' exactly, but after listening to the song the OP posted I'd bet he'd like Porcupine Tree. Lots of cool, weird stuff. But you'd better like the Mellotron sound.
