Honestly, Why did Terry Bozzio play with Korn?

I mean... I like money as much as the next guy, but what a waste:

I am sorry Korn fans for bashing Korn, but even you have to admit... there is no reason for Korn to have a drummer that is this good.

I'm sure Terry was paid very well, but... as impressive as his musical resume is... really... Korn?

Pointless bashing much?

They might not be virtuosos, but they put on a fun show. If they rang me up I'd play with them!

I just don't understand having someone who is extremely talented in a band where talent isn't really called for.

That comment about a working band isn't really called for either.

Just because I, you, and a bunch of people on these forums can't stand Korn, doesn't make them an illegitimate band or anything.

While Terry is a great drummer, I am guessing he isn't making a ton of money off of drumming videos and might actually want to work again.

Mabye he likes the music, band, lifestyle etc, I mean I don't really like Korn, but I see no problem with them having a good player.

KoRn is a band I can't quite understand. And by that, I mean I really like their sound, I just don't like their music It's one of those bands that I want to like, but I just can't

For me it's Jonathan Davis, not Fieldy, his incessant whining about everything and the tone of his voice.

(No offense to Old School [the bassist from Staind who is a TB'er] on here). It's the same for Aaron Lewis for me. All of the songs sound like he is complaining about how much a family member or an old girlfriend screwed him over. It just gets old.

That's my main thing with Korn too, I just can't get behind a 37 year old who whines/complains like a 14 year old.

I didn't intend this thread to be as Korn bashy as it came off... my main point is... having Bozzio drum for Korn is pretty overkill. They've always been about pretty stripped down, simple metal. To me, it would be like if they got Jaco to replace Fieldy, to put it in bass terms.

And if Jaco was happy with them, enjoying the music, I would have no problems with that.

We are talking about the same Terry Bozzio who formed the band Missing Persons.

He's done the rock thing before.

I don't think they'd turn down anyone who wants to play with them because they're too talented for Korn, nor would they shy away from asking any of their heroes if they want to play with the band. Why on earth do you think they would?

Really...nobody here has ever played with someone 'cause its a paying gig or because you're buddies with the guys in the band and its just fun to do it?

Maybe the guy simply doesn't take himself as seriously as some of you seem to think he should.

He's playing with Korn for the same reason Rod Morgenstein played with Winger. A paycheck is a nice thing for a musician.

God forbid he like the music, too.

You can do better than this, Matt.

What happened to their old drummer? Also, they are trying to convince Head to come back to the band, which is really funny because a year ago Davis was bashing him all over the place. If anyone gets the chance you should check out Head's solo cd, Korn, only better and without all the depressing stuff.

... Lord, nevermind. I'm pretty sure I hate Terry Bozzio now.

I really don't think so, at least I don't feel required to do better than this.

Sorry for pissing everyone off, I guess. It was an honest question, I was hoping to find out how/why this came about... but never mind. Until I saw that Missing Persons video, I had no idea of Bozzio's... err... range.

I'm no Korn fan either, but I don't dislike them.

If anything, Bozio brings in a lot to the table, and from that little clip, I think he's making Korn tighter than ever. I'm sure the live shows will be a lot more interesting musically.

Good for both Korn and Bozio, I think.

You would be surprised how many shredder-virtuoso-fusion guys often say the enjoy the Beatles more than anything, and they love playing simple music.
