How do you cope with acid hands?

Sign in to disble this ad
My hands sweat alot with I play....how do you guys cope with acid hands?

What type of rags do you use?
Do you actually use a spray before and after you play?
Do you have to rotate sets of strings (denatured alcohol)?

What are you methods?

I use my pants as a rag. Don't over think this now.

Baby wipes. Keep a container in your gig bag and give the old flippers a wipe before starting every set.

wash hands before play. wipe down strings after. if needed, a small rosin bag will keep hands dry (but sometimes gunk strings a bit)...about your only options short of rubbing sport stick on yer palms.

sometimes you're just screwed from having a high- Ph.

Bah, I don't bother wiping anything down, just replace them about once a week or two. Lately, I've been lazy and left a set on for like 2 months.

Heh, I usually buy them on a deal by the box, but have lately been using rotosounds which are both cheap, and seem to be pretty long lasting. I still have 10-12 other random packs sitting around waiting to be used, if I ever get to them.

Another choice is TI flats. GREAT strings (I never dug flats before) that only get better with time. I can see getting 2-3 years out of a set of those!

Would sweating a lot damage a satin (matte) finish? I was just about to start a new thread when I saw this one.
