"Follow Birdwire on Facebook"?
Okay, but what is the ACTUAL link to your page?
That should be there.

No contact information... no website.. the band's name should be the first thing in the upper right hand side.. with contact info the last on the lower right.

I prefer posters with tear tabs so somone can take a reminder.

Nah, it's just an unremarkable action shot of a band in which every member is looking down at their instruments. It's an action shot with no action. The only time it makes sense to use an actual band shot as a flyer is if you guys are totally bonkers on stage and somebody got a shot when you were leaping off a monitor or somebody's doing a kneeslide or something. This makes you look a little amatuerish. Not a dig at your band at all, I don't know what you sound like, but the pic doesn't do anything for me. I would suggest finding a friend who's a good artist and drawing up a logo or something. That, or practice the hell out of your kneeslides.

I don't think the pic "pops" but that's okay by me. I think the photo is kind of enigmatic, and I like the design at the top. I do agree that you ought to put a phone number and email contact somewhere on the poster - you want to make it as easy as possible for people to contact you.

Okay, just got back from your myspace page. You guys are good, gotta Iron and Wine kinda thing going on. If I were to design your flyer it would definitely be artwork and not photography. Google search Leonard Cohen album art, it'll give you a good idea.

Are you an opening act or is it a random showcase?

"Followed by other bands" seems kind of lame. Also the location should fit on one line, instead of Newcastle wrapping around.

The poster looks a bit too plain. I think a small amount of "aging" would work nicely on that because I'm getting a retro vibe from that. Add some wrinkles/creases, and maybe "tear" the image a little bit to give it that beat up venue brochure look.

As MNAirHead said, it's lacking important information. I'm not really digging the "followed by other bands" part. It implies you're not hot enough to headline the show. You should also put the name of the venue in there somewhere, rather than just "@ The Cambridge Hotel, Newcastle." Minor nitpick: Is the 8:30 start in military time? ha.

Facebook suggestion:
The first result for "Birdwire" to show up on Facebook has 173 likes and it's not even your page. I recommend resizing the profile thumbnail so the band's logo shows up dead center, rather than skewed to the left so people don't have to wonder *** they're looking at. At the bottom of the search is "Birdwire gig" from NYE. I'd get rid of that if it was you, as it gives misleading information for 'current events'.

I don't think your first poster has to be the end-all and be-all of posters. And no need for a Facebook URL - I found your site in one second.

Edit: Oh, if that first Birdwire isn't your site, then, yes, add the URL.
