How do you see yourself in 10 years from now as a bass player? Will it be very different from now? Will you be professional, playing only in you room, just some gigs, playing covers, originals, like a big star, giving lessons?

God,I just hope I'm still eeking out a living playing at that point.

My bandleader is 81 so I'd imagine I'll be working with someone else by then.

Hopefully I'll be playing at least occasionally in local bands, even if only as a fill in / hired gun, and not just playing in the living room. This is of course assuming there are still venues whereever I'm living by then that hire local bands for live music, instead of just having DJs, karaoke, and Guitar Hero / Rock Band contests...

I'm just hoping to be alive, and physically able to play still.

It's taken me almost 10 years to hit the point I'm at now so if I keep progressing at this pace I might actually no longer suck.

In 10 years my son will be 23 and should hopefully be past or near the end of his college career so I'd hope to have more free time for music than I do today. I played guitar and sang in the bands I was in when I was in college but since I started playing bass all I've done is record at home. It would be a lot of fun to get back into playing with a band (it's been almost 25 years) and also fun to finally do it as a bassist. It's a modest goal, but it would be nice to enjoy that again.

I hope I'll be a pro bass player, who is teaching, performing with several bands and doing some production stuff.

I'd love for my band to be able to make a living from playing, but right now it just looks like thats not in the cards.

in 10 years I'll probably be working in an unrelated field, but still recording and once in a blue moon playing out

Well, in ten years from now Ill be 50 (boo) but I see myself as being in a local 'favorite' band, playing about twice a month in the city I live in (which will be Chicago, Salt lake, or Portland). Ill still have my same equipment as I do now... SWR 350 head, Aguilar GS212, American Fender jAzz, and Music Man Sterling Bass...

Ill always love playing live....Even if I have to do (gulp) cover songs..

My wish exactly, though it wont happen, one can still dream.

Ill only be 27, so I wont be "old" as the music industry likes to portray.

Dead. Hopefully, killed by a jealous husband. But probably just another victim of the economy.

I'll still be playing. Where, for whom, and what are up in the air at this point.

If there is any form of justice in the world, I would be dead by then.

Otherwise, I would probably be laying some sweet grooves down for all the survivors living amongst the radioactive rubble of former civilization.
