Few questions about this song:
1 Is it a tribute song?
2 Is it a tribute to The Chicken or Chicken Strut?
3 Or is it a tribute to another song?

Now I'm not sure if Jaco wrote the bass groove, but I know he wrote the "Soul Intro".
If you're NOT talking about The Chicken, then I have no idea where you're going with this.

Can't find any info on it though.
Doesn't sound like "The Chicken" and I'm not sure of the other one, but what makes you think it would be a tribute?
