How to get in a band?

Sign in to disble this ad
Hi I would like to join or start a band, but what are the fundamental things that I sould know as a bass player and would make someone want to hire me?

Oh yeah, and if I was going to make a demo to give someone a sample of what my playing is like what should be on it?

I'm looking at mainly doing some originals if I join a band.

You should be able to execute the techniques commonly found in the type of music that interests you.

You should know and be able to perform music of the type that interests you.

You should go to an open jam of that type of music or hang at venues that feature that music and network.

When you're good enough, and probably before (bass players are scarce), you'll get an offer.

So easy a cave man can do it.
