How to get Roger Waters' tone

Does anybody know what setup Roger Waters was using on Pink Floyd's "Delicate Sound of Thunder" album? It's very fat and purcussive, almost like he's playing slap although I know he played with a pick.

I think the biggest issue here is that Roger Waters did not play on that album. It was Guy Pratt if memory serves me right and he uses a myriad of basses (Fender P, Spector NS2 and Status Headless amongst others) and lately Ashdown amps. Not sure what amps he was using back then.

Guy would have used several different basses on that album. I have the PULSE DVD and the camera was pretty generous in showing the whole band, which is why I know Guy played the basses I stated in the previous post on this thread. Perhaps you ought get the DVD of the concert and you will be able to see which bass he played on which song.

Water's tone = Peter Cornish stomp boxes, and a lot of them.

Er no. If you are talking about David Gilmour, he uses Pete Cornish effects amongst a myriad of others. Waters used few effects but does use Compression and some Phase/Chorus effect.

You got that right!! I gather that W always thanked G every time he won the "Bass Player of the Year" award.
