How long did it take you?

So I'm curious: how long did it take you from the time you first started playing bass until the time you were stage-ready?

Under a year...

But I played guitar for a couple of years before that. Strange how I've never looked back at the guitar since I picked up the bass :P

I was on the stage well before I was actually stage ready.

I was on stage a month and a half after my first lesson (so not ready)

I didn't know anything about chords or string instrument when I started, so go figure...
(mkay, blues in what? and what does Bb mean?... ow, and which notes are those... wait... where can I find those notes on my DB?)

About a year, but at that time I was only 11, so no bar gigs until I was sneaked in a few places from about 15 and beyond.
