Just a rough count will do
For someone seriously into music I think I'm lagging waaaay behind.
Metallica (supported by Kyuss) in 1993 (7th April) at the Perth Entertainment Centre.
BB King that same year, same place.
KISS, 1997, Burswood Dome.
Big Day Out 2006 - Wolfmother, Gerling, Franz Ferdinand, Mudvayne, Hilltop Hoods and a few others I don't remember the names of.
And yeah, thats about it. I missed a lot of good shows recently due to lack of money. Mortgages and kids will do that. Thank the lord for the internet and youtube

1 x Stevie Wonder in '05
1 x Steely Dan (on Pori Jazz, a big festival, '07. Elvis Costello also played there with Allan Toussaint, and a couple of other smaller acts. Didn't enjoy that one too much though)
1 x ac/dc (2000?)
As you see, I haven't been to many bigger concerts with big names. But I go almost every week to a local jazzclub that I also work in from time to time, and other smaller concerts. There are a few major acts I would like to see live yet though, like Eagles and Pat Metheny Group.

Nirvana: at the Reading festival in 92. I dont remember much, I was very young.
Soundgarden: Cornell did a solo aqoustic version of "Black hole sun". Was amazing.
Pearl jam: They were a let down for a band I love. It was about the time Vedder started "growing up", and stopped going mad on stage.
Faith no more: Their last gig over here in 98. Joined on stage by Sparks, for "this town aint big enough." I lost my boot in the mosh, and had to make it home-over 120 miles without it. Classic.
Rage against the machine: Bit of a let down again. Still loved it, though.
The Chilli peppers: Seen em three times now, and each was brilliant. I wouldnt go and see them these days though, because they're not nearly as good as a live band as they used to be.
Loads of other "smaller" bands.
To see: Tool. |

I must have seen the Dead 9 times or so, and probably another 50 shows on top of that.

I've been to lots of big shows, but many of the big ones were more about having a good time, drinking some beers in the parking lot, meeting girls, etc. Music frequently took a back seat, I mean I probably heard Steve Miller play his greatest hits album 10 different times throughout the 90's, the show barely changed. I've found that over the last 10-15years the most interesting music that I've experienced has been in smaller venues or smaller stages at festivals.
But for what it's worth:
The Dead (with or w/o Jerry) 12x
Ani DiFranco 12x (or so)
Steve Miller 9-10x
Leftover Salmon 10x
Yonder Mountain String Band 8x
Bob Dylan 7x
Rat Dog 7-8x
Phil Lesh 6x
Neil Young (with or w/o CSN) 5x
Phish 6x
Eric Clapton
Pearl Jam
Dizzy Gillespe
Miles Davis (too young to remember)
George Clinton
A Bunch of Symphonies
Lots of other stuff
