...played so far this year? 2006

I'm just curious to see how busy different players are.

This has not been a good year for me! I think I've played 4 or 5 gigs so far and I just quit that band last month so there is nothing on the horizon at the moment!

25-30... old calendars fall away after the date is played so I can't go back and count.

I've done exactly 40 'real' gigs so far, and probably another 20 or so freebies. A little quieter than last year, but looking to pick up nicely over the next few months.

My main band, North River Agents - 10
My experimental jazz group - 3
Gospel/Worship - 20
Other pickup/casual gigs - 5

Those are estimates... I'm not sure exactly how many.

1 band practice (just before my last band broke up), 1 open jam and 1 audition. How sad is that?...

Good news is my audition went well and I'm starting practice with the new band tomorrow night...

I've played about 20 so far, and the musical I'm doing at the end of the month will account for 6 more.

I've done about 50 in the last 2 1/2 months. By December I should have about 200 under my belt for the year

I had my 1st "gig" of '06, on the 4th of July

Actually this was my 1st gig ever and not a paying gig, but a backyard party. But there were about 50-60 people there, and we played 2 full sets.

I had a lot of fun made a lot of mistakes and hope to do it again soon.

It's been a pretty busy year so far.

Church: every Sunday, maybe missed a couple
Shows: around 125 so far (figuring around 25/month)
Club gigs: I'd guess around 80-100 or so (figuring an average of 2-3 week)
Studio gigs: maybe 10

About 20 paying gigs. Probably as many open mic nights where I go to meet more musicians. I could probably be working as a bass player much more if I wasn't picky but since I don't earn my living through music I would rather choose what I want to do. There are a couple of exiting possibilities that may be coming up including one rehearsal band playing jazz and another sub situation with a band doing Steely Dan amongst other things. Heck I don't mind if I don't get paid for that stuff.

Absolutely...0.

I'll probably get into playing for my church sometime, seeing as how they've got someone to cover the sound guy spot i've held for the last year...
