Sounds good, if you let me know in advance. ( i have a 4 month old son)

I studied with Ant for 2 years, 1 year at Hot Licks, back in 2002, then other at his new spot in 2007.

I don't study with him, but I do e-mail him back and fourth occasionally!

Also, Moved to Misc.
Seems more appropriate there.

I seriously doubt anyone sees this request and responds Myke, so if you want to get together, that'll be good.

I'll bring my drum machine as well.

I'm strictly confining myself to working on timing exercises (off the Wooten dvd) in fact, this is the very last lesson i studied with Anthony on, before i decided to stop my lessons with Anthony.

After Anthony brought to my atttention that i had no sense of time when i played and ran down the timing exercise, he would draw up a timeline on the board, and mark the beats he wanted me to subdivide, and he would then walk into the next room and get on his internet and listen to me mess up time & again. I couldn't catch the 'e' & 'uh' of the beats to save my life. It really annoyed me, as i would burn my half hour up with him, struggling to play on the correct beat and subsequently leave their angry in my heart. I couldn't see the purpose of the lesson then, but on the Wooten dvd he goes through the whole concept. I now understand it's purpose.

I mean, you can't just go & leave me with the Mr. Myiaga karate kid lesson, paint the fence, wax on wax off, run me around the mulbery bush, and expect me just to take his word that this is the lesson plan for me. I mean, not when i'm paying you. I'm the type that needs to be walked through with, i have to see it, to put my best effort forth.

Timing for me is a real pain right now, but's it's 75% of playing bass, where you lay your notes. That space creates the groove.

But yeah, even if you want to meet at Hot Licks, Wednesdays are good for me, but i don't know if Hot Licks would want to see us idilly hanging around there store like those cats do at Atomic music all day.

yeah ant worked with me doing that timing exercise.. i can do it fairly well just when u start going into the higher ends of the exercises like playing 3 against 4 is where i have troubles... really once u can feel the e and the uh for just beat one u can do the same thing for the rest... just learn how they feel like the upbeat and the downbeat...

and thats cool with me one I just need to find out where Hot Licks is at...

Did you ever say anything to ant about leaving the lesson and gettin on the internet?
