How Many Of You Guys Check Out Other Member's Bands

Sign in to disble this ad
I've been posting here for a couple years now and I've noticed that there's a lot of guys who put links to their band's myspace pages or band websites in their signatures. I do it myself, as you can see.

My question is how many of you actually check them out? I actually don't click on them much. I do a lot of ignoring of stuff in people's sigs, not on purpose but simply because I subconsciously overlook it. Are most of you guys like me or do you actually check a lot of other member's bands out?

I check out the links for people who have interesting things to say (or funny). I suspect that most of the recording are like my own myspace offerings, something that suffices but really doesn't demonstrate my full range of capabilities.

Besides that, we are 99% sidemen by nature, the 1% Charlie Mingus, Jaco, etc. are exceptional, so in the supporting role we play, it often isn't that exciting.

I tend to do that too. There are more people here than I can check out, but if someone has interesting things to say, I'm generally interested in what they have to say musically.

I've done it for a few members, and I've gotten out to see some other members' bands live. It would be great if every gig was a GTG!

That makes good sense. If the guy/girl is funny or in the know about a lot of stuff it should also reflect in his/her ability to play music as well.
