How many of you are bass ONLY players? I mean, thats it, no guitars owned or played, just you and your basses?
Or are you like me, just a Tele and a Blues Jr. and a Tacoma for along w/ my Basses for writing?

My collection of instruments isn't because I'm not a bassist though, it's because of my passion for and interest in all kinds of music. bass will always be my true love |

I just cannot seem to make myself *want* to play anything else enough to spend the time practicing it! Also, my brain has thoroughly adapted to bass unfortunately, so I find it very challenging to wrap my head around anything else now. Like learning a new language, multi-instrumentalism should be attempted at early ages.
EDIT: I still own a guitar, as do both of my kids, and my wife owns a piano. None of them seem to get used all that much!

| | a bongo cured my gas. | | Join Date: Jan 2007 Location: masury, OH | | | i own a few guitars- an acoustic and an electric. i dabble with them every so often but that's as far as it goes, dabbling. i also picked up a nice keyboard recently, and would like to learn to play that enough to be able to sit in with some folks, but that is a LONG way off. and i can't play drums at all.
so, i am pretty much ONLY a bass player, and i am completely okay with that. |

After 2 and a half years, I realised it just wasn't my calling...got a bass from a friend and the rest is history. I still have a guitar but that's just due to laziness...haven't got round to selling it yet.
I do, however, want to learn how to play sax. Love the sound of a sax. I'd like to be able to drum too, however I don't see me buying a kit any time soon... |

I think their is value on playing other instruments - it will surely expand you vocabulary on Bass.

that being said..bass is my main, but ive got my drums, piano/keys, a couple guitars, and maybe a harmonica or two? | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | |
