Hrmmn maybe a scam I dunno....

So I put my Ampeg BXT-115HL4 on craigslist yesterday and I get a very generic sounding request.....

" Hello,
I saw your id on craigslist,Am interested in you musical intsrument,is still available for sale?let me know if is still available for sale and also will like to know your best offer.will be expecting to hear from you soon"

Now for one it says they saw my "id on my musical intrumental" theres nothing specific about it.

This is what I get to my repsonse

"Hi,
Thanks for your reply.I want you to know that i want the best for both of us in this transaction.I'm cool with your final price which is $350,please let me know if you will accept payment with Money order as it's the only way i can pay you at the moment.I would have loved to come take a look at it but i am presently out of town on an assignment.i also want to believe it is in a good working condition.Also,don't fail to reply with your name and your address where payment should be sent.I will let you know how i intend to pick it up.Expecting to hear from you soon.
Dawson."

This was my response to them:
"The cab is is great working order and sounds great I just don't need that many cabinets plus, I am trying to fund a guitar half stack. When do you think you will be back in town? If it's a couple of days I will hold it for you just keep in touch with me......are you located in the dfw area cause I am not shipping, local deals only..."

Something just seems fishy about it...jut trying to get 2nd opinions...

they'll try anything, I told them i am not shipping it anywhere, besides if they sent the money order I would deposit it before I shipped anything anyways, some people must not be very bright when it comes to these things and these scammers get away with it...

If it's a phoney money order, it can take weeks before your bank finds out. You'll get the money in your account, and then weeks later it will be removed when they find that the money order isn't legit.
