HSC or gig bag

Just found a great studio for our band to rehearse. Yeah! Now I will be bringing my classic 50's Precision to work with me on mass transit and heading right to rehearsal after work. I have a safe place to store it at work. I still have the Fender gig bag it came with but one shoulder strap is broken. Should I get a HSC for transit or will that make things more difficult? I'm sure many of you have expereince with this.

Gig bag for me. But if you enjoy lugging heavy things around go for the HSC. Your choice.

Mass transit? Definitely gig bag. A hard case is just way too bulky to maneuver through turnstiles, crowded busses, etc. Fix the shoulder straps.

A quality gig bag like a Mono, Pro-Tec or Reunion Blues

Thanks folks for confirming my suspicions. I was thinking a HSC was going to be too bulky.

Bag is OK if you're not gonna let it out of your possession. HSC is mandatory if others will be handling it, or if it will be travelling with other gear in a trailer, truck, or van.
